Chronology of cameras Camerabau Frankfurt

This rare strut folding camera is apparently not referred in any period advert, catalogue or other source. Its name shows it was made by a company from Frankfurt in Germany but no register could be found. It is a well made camera, and bears some resemblance to Bentzin cameras, such as the articulated struts. It was designed for a plate format of 6.5 x 9 cm.
The unique focal plane shutter, delivering speeds in the range 1 to 1/1000 seconds plus T, is controlled by a single knob. Cocking is made by a lever. The focusing is made by a large disc located around the lens, similarly to the Japanese  Ginrei Vester Klapp camera. The lens is a Meyer & Co Trioplan with 15 cm of focal length and a maximum aperture of 3.
Overall it is a solid and well made camera of uncertain origin.
